January 14th - Edward Johnson, Gemological Institute of America: "An Introduction to the GIA"

Edward Johnson is the president of the London faction of the GIA. The GIA is the world's foremost authority on gemology, diamond grading, jewelry education and gemology research.

January 21st - Dr Paul Bown, UCL: "IODP Expedition 320: drilling the deep Pacific ocean floor to investigate the history of life and climate" More about Dr Bown's research.

February 4th - Ian Moxon, Environment Agency: "Contaminated Land: Issues for the 2012 Olympics"

March 25th - Careers seminars:

Dr Jonathan Craig: Vice President of ENI, a multinational oil and gas conmpany. He will talk on " The Role of the Geologist in the Petroleum Industry" and potential career opportunities.

Carina Fearnly: UCL Alumni and completing PhD student. She has extensive work experience. She will speak on the "Mining and mineral exploration industry, mining finance, working in the city (investment banking and stock brokering)".
