STIPENDS
Another of the core activities of the Grzybowski Foundationis the Student Grant-in-Aid Programme. The aim of the programmeis to provide some support, especially for deserving young post-graduate micropalaeontologists from Central Europe who have limited access to other means of support. To date, three such awards have been made, and it is envisaged that GF Student Grants-in-Aid will continue to be granted on an annual basis.
The Grzybowski Stipend is awarded as the need arises.
The Stanislaw Geroch Memorial Stipend, established in 1995, is awarded annually to a student of micropalaeontology registered at any university in Poland. The amount of the awards is linked to the grant (the Beres Stipend) already offered by the Geological Society of Poland, currently about £150.
In addition, the Grzybowski Foundation offers small grants to scientists and students from Eastern Europe. For example, in 1993 the Foundation routinely awards travel grants to micropalaeontologists from Russia and Romania to enable them to participate in the IWAF and MIKRO meetings.
The Grzybowski Foundation Award is given annually to acknowledge significant accomplishments in the field of micropalaeontology.
